In the meantime, whisk together the half and half, flour, sugar, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
Add this mixture to the sausage bits in the mixing bowl along with any seasonings you want (I like adding some crushed red pepper flakes).
Stir everything together until well combined before transferring it back to the pan to cook for about 8 minutes or so. Make sure to stir occasionally while cooking.
After 5 minutes, remove from the heat and transfer to a serving dish. Spoon gravy on top of each bite before serving if desired. Enjoy!
